Specialist and critical care centre located in Cwmbran, South Wales.
A newly constructed 560-bed, 55,000m2 hospital that will provide complex specialist and critical care treatment for over 600,000 people in South-East Wales, and include a 24-hour acute Assessment Unit and Emergency Department.
EP&S was appointed to provide an expansion scheme for all systems within the building which included low-temperature hot water (LTHW) and domestic hot water service (DHWS). The scheme also included providing expansion provisions for the pipework that connected the energy centre and the main hospital building via a service trench. There were also various building movement joints throughout the building’s large floor plate which needed to be accounted for and selecting the correct equipment to do so.
